Open Educational Resources (OERs)

Open educational resources (OERs) are free digitized materials offered to educators, students, and self-learners under a Creative Commons (or other "open") license that allows users to copy, use, adapt, and redistribute for educational and research purposes.

These OERs can be found in a variety of places.  Some journals offer specific issues or articles that are open access.  Other times, the author of a text has made it open access and available for other to use free of charge. *Please not that OERs are different then the library purchasing an unlimited access license to a resource.*

If you have questions about OERs or want to discuss how to include more Open Educational Resources into your classroom, please contact a librarian.

Below are a few places where you can look to locate OERs.  This list is not all inclusive.  If you know of other places where Open Educational Resources are available, please e-mail library@asbury.edu the information to have it added to this list.

If you locate OERs that you would like to use in your class, those resources can be added to the Kinlaw Library Catalog and linked to your Discovery class page for easier findability by your students.
