The Dennis F. Kinlaw Study Center

Books Owned by Dennis Kinlaw

Upon his death, Dr. Dennis Kinlaw's family donated his personal book collection of over 5,000 volumes (along with vast amounts of his personal correspondence and sermon notes) to Kinlaw Library at Asbury University.

The reading room outside Archives, on the 1st floor of Kinlaw Library, was turned into the Kinlaw Study Center, which houses memorabilia and mementos from Dr. Kinlaw's life and career.  Students and others can come study in the space and make use of Dr. Kinlaw's personal notes and books.

The bookshelves in the Kinlaw Study Center house 1000+ items which were hand-picked from Dr. Kinlaw's personal library by Asbury University faculty for their significance to our Wesleyan-Holiness tradition.

Dr. Kinlaw was a student of human culture, both religious and secular. He had a special interest in the moral, ethical, philosophical, and theological ideas that shape human destinies. Other titles included on these bookshelves represent the vast variety of Dr. Kinlaw's interests.

Here you will also find many of the books Dr. Kinlaw wrote during his lifetime, translated into several languages, such as Chinese and Korean.

The books that belonged to Dr. Kinlaw that are not located on the Books of Distinction bookshelves can be found within the regular Kinlaw Library Collection.  All books from Dr. Dennis Kinlaw's personal library contain a nameplate inside.

Complete Book Donation

You may need to search every list in order to locate a specific title.  To view of list of the books house in the Kinlaw Study Center as Books of Distinction, please see the next section on this page.
