Zotero

What is Zotero?

Zotero

According to the company website, "Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share research." While it is easy to think of Zotero as a citation tool to help you with APA, MLA, Chicago, etc., it's best function is the ability to keep you organized. Looking through lots of articles and books for a project can make it easy to forget where you read something or where you found something and Zotero can help with that. There are many other similar tools available online, but we support Zotero because it is free and easy to integrate. Check out the Quick Start Guide for an overview of how it works.

Installing Zotero

Zotero provides information on how to install their program on both Macs and PCs. Check out the Installation Instructions to get started. We recommend installing the Zotero Connector on the web browser of your choice as well (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) as that will make data capture more efficient. You will see the desktop version and how to use the connector effectively in the video below.
