Distance Services

Welcome to Kinlaw Library's Distance Services page!  We are so glad you are here.  Our goal is to provide our distance learners with the same exceptional resources and services available to our on-campus students.

Take a moment to look around.  Can't find what you need? Please don't hesitate to ask!

Access to Resources from Off Campus

This box will appear when trying to access Asbury's resources from off campus.  Use your Asbury student log-in information (username & password).  After entering this information, you will be able to search Kinlaw Library's catalog, e-books, and databases as usual.

Proxy Log-In Box

We have a variety of resources available to our on and off campus students, including:

  • Books
    • Search our online catalog for print books that are located in Kinlaw Library.
  • E-books
    • Search our electronic book collection for digital copies you can access on and off campus.
  • Reference e-books
    • A great reliable alternative to Google.  Search Credo Reference for books, articles within those books, images, and updated unbias commentary on current news.
  • Databases
    • Locate reliable scholarly articles in databases containing general information as well as subject specific resources.
  • Journals
    • Access full text articles of entire journals online.

Using Asbury Scholar

Asbury Scholar is a search box that gives one point of access to most of Kinlaw Library’s print and electronic resources.  It is similar to using a search engine like Google. You may also hear it referred to as EDS or a Discovery layer.

Reciprocal Borrowing Program

Asbury University is a part of a reciprocal borrowing program through the Association of Christian Librarians.

If you do not live near Wilmore, KY, and thus are unable to visit Kinlaw Library, you may live near a partnering institution and are eligible to check out books from their library.

You can find a list of partnering institutions in the blue box on the ACL website.

In order to borrow from another institution, you must FIRST obtain a signed Authorization Form from Kinlaw Library.  To do so, please email library@asbury.edu and attach the Authorization Form with the top portion already complete.
